Whitehouse Common Primary School

Arrived at 11 o'clock. After a quick tour and a bed making demonstration followed by a hot dog lunch, the children embarked on their first set of activities, these consisted of zip wire, canoeing, archery and rock climbing. Lots of bravery, encouragement and fun going on. A lovely tea of pizza and cottage pie was devoured quickly by hungry children and staff. Children then carried out their chores (yes parents I said chores!)  Free time involved a football match and a exploration of the centre and a discovery of clay. Lights out and a very enjoyable day had by all ready for an action packed day tomorrow!

This year Sports Day will be held on Thursday 1st July with a reserve date of Thursday 8th July.
 
Your child will take part in their house team and should if possible wear a T-shirt of the house’s colour on the day. Please do not feel the need to buy new tops, as if necessary your child will be able to wear a badge to show their colour. 
 
Timings are as follows:
 
Early Years KS1 (Multi Sports)-  Start: 9.15 am – 10.45 am
KS2 (Traditional Sports Day)   -  Start: 1.15 pm – 3.00 pm 

Lunch Arrangements

Providing the day is warm and dry we would like to invite you to a picnic lunch and the arrangements are as follows:

• Parents are invited to join their children for a picnic lunch around 12.00 pm. (Parents to bring their own picnic)
• All children who have a school lunch will be provided with a packed lunch by our school cook. Please complete the attached sheet to indicate what you child would like to eat. (No hot meals on this day)
• Children who do not normally have a school meal should bring their own picnic or order a school lunch, with the appropriate money (£1.85) by Monday 28th June. This money must be in a sealed envelope with the child’s name, class and clearly marked with ‘School Picnic Lunch’. 
• Please congregate on the Vesey field and teachers will bring the children to you at 12.00 noon ready for the picnic. 
• Children whose parents cannot come along to Sports Day will be looked after by the lunch-time supervisors and school staff.

A big thank you to everyone that helped to collect Tesco vouchers this year. We have collected over 12000 vouchers. We have placed an order for lots of exciting ICT equipment.

We are getting two digital cameras,

and an Easi-scope microscope. Many thanks to everyone for their support, well done!!

On Friday 12th June we had a special visit from Luke Folwell, as part of our Team Super Schools Challenge. Luke is a member of the Great Britain Olympic squad and is the current English Gymnastics Champion. The whole school joined in with the sports challenge and took part in a physical activity.
