Dear Parents A pupil in school has been found to have head lice. Although head lice are seldom spread in school you should take the following precautions: Please check your child’s head tonight. Thoroughly comb through damp hair from the roots with a fine-tooth comb, (detector comb) having first applied conditioner over a white surface (paper or towel). Comb in sections if the hair is thick. Older children can do this themselves. Check the paper or towel to see if any lice have been combed out. If any lice are found, repeat above method every three days for 2 weeks until clear. Head lice infections may be prevented by ensuring every member of the family combs their hair regularly, at least twice a day. Be sure your family is infection free by checking head by detection combing weekly and whenever there has been a head-to-head contact with someone who has lice. Should you require any further information or help, our School Nurse can be contacted on: 465 5232. Head lice are usually caught from a family or community contact: if lice are found the whole family should be checked and treated if necessary. All other close contacts with the infected child (or adult) should be warned to check their heads and be treated if required. These include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbours, playgroups, etc. If we work together, we can aim to prevent any further head lice infections. However, it is your responsibility to check your child is infection free. Yours sincerely, Debbie Allen |

Congratulations to Grace and Francesca in Key Stage 2 who have both recently had success in Dance competitions. They competed in the British Theatre Dance Association Championship heats for the Midlands area and both did extremely well. They attend the Novelli Stage School in Sutton Coldfield and have both qualified to dance in the All England Championship finals in November. Well done!

Yesterday we were lucky enough to have a visit from members of the CBSO. They performed for Key Stage 1 and Key Sage 2 and talked to us about the different instruments that they were using. It was absolutely fantastic, thank you very much to the musicians that came. For more information about the CBSO [click here].

Today is our last day in Barcelona so whilst you are all enjoying your Mufti day, we'll be visiting Els Pins for the last time (this visit) then going our separate ways after a bit of souvenir shopping. So watch out for Señor Worth and his sombrero, and see if you can spot the donkey in Señora Allen's office ;o)
We've had a wonderful time and have so much to share with you after the holidays.
So from Barcelona -
¡Qué os paseis unas buenas vacaciones! ¡Hasta la vista!
Señor Worth took the photo! |
