Water bottle holderLast half term Year 4 designed and made our own water bottle containers to fit our brand new Whitehouse Common bottles. We thought about suitable materials that we could use and types of straps or fastenings that they could have. It took a LONG time to make them, especially the sewing, but we were really pleased with the finished results!

Once more, pupils at Whitehouse Common have been seen as an example of new and exciting learning.

Señora Stevens recently spoke at a conference for Language teachers in York and showcased work done by year 5 using an online tool called Wallwisher which allows you to put 'post-it notes' on a digital wall, as well as playing delegates examples of speaking tasks recorded on Easispeak microphones and demonstrating ways that pupils have added their own mark to language learning at WCPS.

The comments received after the session were all very positive, including one person who said 'You should be very proud of your pupils!.'

And we are!

pearsThe last week before half term was Healthy Living week and there were all kinds of activities going on around school.  Healthy snacks at breaktimes, lots of exercise (including Spanish keep fit!) and various attempts at cooking - Year 2 ate Mr Worth's vegetable soup and lived to tell the tale!

5LC decided to be a bit different and made some info-mercials in Spanish about healthy living - you can see some of them on our school wikispace
