TeachersTV

Last June, a camera crew from Teachers TV spent a day filming at Whitehouse Common.  They were making a programme about ICT, and specifically, using Online Communities in learning languages.  Señora Stevens had been volunteered as an 'expert' who had the task of showing a 'novice' teacher how to do it before they went back to their school and tried out the ideas.

Four classes were filmed  - 3RD, 4AT, 5LC and a mixture of the Year 6 classes - using a variety of tools, and all the pupils were absolute stars.  The crew, and Marie the visiting teacher, commented on how polite, cooperative and articulate the pupils had been all day, despite all the disruption.

Tomorrow - Tuesday 15th September - you can watch the finished programme at 8am, 4pm and 9pm on TeachersTV.

However, if you miss this, all is not lost.  The video is online and can be accessed here.

The Big Tidy UpThe HHTC children are very concerned about protecting the environment around them so we decided to join The Big Tidy Up, which is Keep Britain Tidy's latest campaign to get the public,  especially children involved in cleaning up our communities. Over a week our children donned bright green tabards and armed with huge litter bags and litter pickers they patrolled the borders of the Vesey field and both the Infants and Junior Playground filling 8 bags of litter.

The children were magnificent, very enthusiastic and hard working all week. They have decided to continue with this activity and  will work hard to keep our school grounds tidy in addition to the hard work that the children do during the school day.

We are proud of them.Well done!!
