The Big Tidy UpThe HHTC children are very concerned about protecting the environment around them so we decided to join The Big Tidy Up, which is Keep Britain Tidy's latest campaign to get the public,  especially children involved in cleaning up our communities. Over a week our children donned bright green tabards and armed with huge litter bags and litter pickers they patrolled the borders of the Vesey field and both the Infants and Junior Playground filling 8 bags of litter.

The children were magnificent, very enthusiastic and hard working all week. They have decided to continue with this activity and  will work hard to keep our school grounds tidy in addition to the hard work that the children do during the school day.

We are proud of them.Well done!!

WATCHING EDUCATIONAL FILMS/VIDEOS

As many of you will already know, Visual Literacy is an integral part of our teaching of reading and writing at Whitehouse Common Primary School. Children use popular films to develop their understanding of characters and settings, to develop their vocabulary and use of different sentence structures, and as a stimulus for many speaking and listening activities including drama.
