On arrival at Whitehouse Common Primary school as a visitor you will enter in the top gate and first you will see our Acorns building, this is where you will find the school reception and main admin office.

To the right of the Hometime Club are Mrs Hawksworths Allotments, where our children learn about life and plant growth.

Walk straight past, mind the roadway, you will come to the Oaks Building where our Keystage 2 children all learn.

Welcome to the Acorns Building

When you enter the building you will need to report to the office where you are welcomed by the admin staff.

In this building you will also find the office of our Head Teacher, Mrs Allen.

Before entering the classrooms you can see the Hall. This is where the Foundation and KS1 children have PE and where children eat lunch if they have sandwiches.

Year One children love to work in our learning areas. They have lots of friends  around the room and on the walls to help them with their writing and to inspire their creativity!

We have really enjoyed learning the skills to be successful at weaving!

We thought all about what it would be like to live under the sea! We talked to our friends and our teachers to help us to think of lots of ideas. We then did some fantastic writing and some of it is displayed
outside the classroom. We are really proud of our achievements

Welcome to the Oaks Building

When you enter this building you need to report to the secretary.

In this building you will also find the office of our Deputy Head, Ms Checkley.

Mrs Coughlin's office

Before entering the classrooms you can see the hall. This is where the KS2 children have PE and where children eat their lunch if they have a school meal.

In our entrance hall you will find the 'Achievement Tree'. Key Stage 1 and the Foundation Stage also has one of these. They display the names of all the children who achieve something throughout our School. As the year goes on the tree grows - we like recognising everyone's achievements!!!

Our School swimming pool is also in the KS2 building. All year groups (apart from Year 6 who use Wyndley Pool) will have lessons here at somepoint throughout the year.

These are pictures of the opening day for the school pool in about 1968, the pool (then outdoor) was opened in the presence of Major T.C.Lock and the Headmaster SLR Atkinson

Welcome to the Willows. This building is in between the Acorns and the Oaks buildings, that is made up of rooms that are used for different purposes.

We have a wonderful speaking and listening centre...

...a special place called 'The Den' where we come to talk if we are upset about something...

Welcome to the rest of our School...


Our School has a before and after school club which is called 'Happy Hometime Club'. Here is a picture of the main room we use. (for more info on the before and after school facilities of the Happy Hometime Club

When the weather is nice we also take advantage of our FANTASTIC School Grounds...

We also have a very special place on our grounds called 'Abigail's Garden'. This was built so that we can remember a girl called Abigail Bevington who used to go to this School but unfortunately is no longer with us.

One final place that we also help to look after is the allotments where Mrs Hawksworth plants lots of interesting vegetables and plants for us to use in School.
