Where are we ? Bockleton The former Bockleton Court, a Victorian country house, is now a listed building. Although the original furniture has long since been removed, many Victorian features remain even now. The site was purchased by the City of Birmingham in 1950 and initially used as a Camp School, introducing city children to the countryside. Its role has gradually evolved and changed over the past five decades. The Centre is situated in approximately 10 hectares of mixed woodland and standing water in a very rural location, some 8km. from the nearest small market town, Tenbury Wells. Bockleton Parish consists of a few scattered houses and farms with a small church and village hall. It is important to note that there is no Post Office or village shop. Google Map ViewDay one
This afternoon we all enjoyed a walk around the estate and then repeated the same walk in the dark. The stars were fabulous!! The children are just finishing a treasure hunt around the house before having supper.
Day Two The weather has been fine here today. The children have enjoyed a day packed with activities. Hope all those washing machines at home have a mud cycle, Day 3 Unableto update as Mrs Hawkesworth is to tired to communicate, will update this when she has recovered :o) Day 4Our day out in Ludlow was fab. The rain kept off We had the castle to ourselves. We have walked in the footsteps of Tudor royalty, explored St Lawrences's church, and the town centre. Looking forward to a roast chicken dinner tonight and live entertainment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This page will contain the updates for the 2010 Bockleton visit, if you want to know more about Bockleton, you can look at the previous years trip pages 2003 | 2004 | 2006 | 2007 | 2008
